It’s a MArathon,
Not a Sprint…

I have always hidden behind the camera, but now I’m sharing my experiences, through rough waves + calm seas, to document the progress I’ve made so far on trying to lose 100+ pounds. I mainly try to stay hydrated daily, eat High-Protein + High-fiber foods, use Anti-Inflammatory recipes and cut back on Gluten + Dairy (mostly for digestive purposes).

I am also currently taking ZepBound (when I can find it…), which helps keep me stay focused and slows down my digestion as well. I still have to put in the hard work, by avoiding greasy foods, alcohol + refined sugars. The medication just helps keep me focused on what I SHOULD be eating, which has also taught me what my own body needs to function.

This is a never-ending path + I have currently not reached the goal that I set with my doctor and cardiologist, so the content on this page will continue to change. One thing I promise is that I will always be honest and transparent along the way. No-one is perfect. If you are on a similar journey or just starting, feel free to refer back to earlier stages that apply to where YOU ARE on your own path.

Hopefully the tips, tricks, recipes and routines I share, will help someone else in some way! This is a forever lifestyle change, not just a quick fix…

Quick Back story:

(First let me remind you that I am NOT a health expert… I am only sharing experiences that I have personally gone through. We are all built differently and digest foods differently. Always consult your Doctor and trust your own gut.)

I have tried every quick fix, but along the way, I’ve learned more + more healthy habits, and what I SHOULD be doing for my own gut health and weight-loss. It was not until I watched a few friends who took Wegovy and/or Mounjaro and had great success, that I decided that I needed a little extra help. A lot of people said that being on the medicine “quieted the food chatter” which has always been my biggest hurdle.

So after a lot of research, and with the blessing of my doctor, I took my first Mounjaro Shot on Thursday, October 12, 2023. I will be sharing my progress on the blog, along with products that have helped me along the way as well.

I look forward to see how things continue to improve as time goes on!

UPDATES:

(7/15/24) I was down 72 pounds at one point, and after a few weeks off of the medication + a lot of events going on AND a lot of traveling… I went up 5-8 pounds. It could be worse. I will try to share more on Instagram, and here on the blog with more details. (Just wanted to keep the updates as current as possible)

(4/12/24) I am currently down 60 pounds, and feel a lot better. I moved over to Zepbound and there has been a nationwide shortage of both Mounjaro + Zepbound. I had gone off of 7.5 for about 2 weeks and did okay for the first 10 days and started to come unraveled the last 3 before I was able to finally take my 7.5 shot of Zepbound. I did not gain any weight during that time, but made poor food choices, lost sleep and felt terrible. I’m hoping that I can back on track and continue in the right direction again…

(11/30/23) At the time of starting this Blog, I am 3 weeks in and down 11.4 pounds. The most important non-scale victory is that I have energy, hope and a clearer mind to make better choices. I wasn’t sure what “food chatter” was, until I stopped caring about what was for dinner each night and started focusing more on listening to my own body and putting the right foods in to fuel it well! When you treat your body well, it treats you well also. No more aches, more energy, sleeping better, and growing strength are just a few ways it has already started to repay me.
