WELCOME!
This is the first post of many, but I wanted to start with a brief introduction to let you know where I started on my journey.
On October 12th 2023, I weighed 270 pounds. (Keep in mind I’m only 5’ 1” at the most). I took my first shot of Mounjaro that evening and have not looked back since. Fast forward to today and I am down 27.7 pounds and weight 243.3. I have a loooong road ahead and plan to lose over 100+ pounds total.
Not for any other reason other than to FEEL better and be healthier INSIDE. Plus, getting to finally make fun and healthy dishes for our entire family is a bonus also!
Sure, wearing a smaller size would be nice, or people noticing your weightloss is great too, but let me give you a quick rundown of all of the non-scale victories I have experienced so far…
Tying my shoes doesn’t feel like I’m crushing a ribs!
I can run up and down the stairs multiple times a day doing laundry without needing a nap in the afternoon.
Clothes are fitting better and I even went from a 20/22 to an 18.
I have more energy than I have in a long time
Mounjaro feels like you have blinders on and can stay the course. But I love putting in the hard work of meal planning, meal prep, grocery shopping, cooking and knowing that I’m eating more intentionally – with the end goal of taking care of my body better.
Vegetables are the first food that I think of when planning a meal – because they make you feel good inside.
Greasy foods like Chicken Wings are not as appealing anymore
I love the challenge of creating comfort foods for our family and sneaking in as many nutrient-dense foods as possible without the kids noticing :)
I’m sure the list will continue to grow over time. One downfall to this medicine is that I feel like those “blinders” keep me almost too hyper-focused in some areas and I have great ideas in others, but can’t execute them as well… yet.
I’m slowly reintroducing movement and appreciating that I can still exercise without joints hurting as much as they used to.
Thanks for following along + I look forward to sharing more with you soon!
